✔️ Capturing emotion

• My posing and prompting techniques rely on getting to know you, what your natural smile looks like and bringing out your natural movements. Maybe it’s by baking cookies in your kitchen, walking your dog through the neighborhood or sitting on the porch. Doing things you normally do in places you’d normally be. I encourage authenticity.

✔️ Make the ordinary extraordinary

• When I arrive at your home for family photos, I watch how your dog curls up on the couch like they have time and time before, the routine you go through to get dresses- everyday things that make you who you are. I see your home as the place that keeps you safe, and where you’re able to express yourself. I capture the details of your life and show how important your existence is.

✔️ Observing

• Often times during a wedding, I’ll see a special moment happen within 3 seconds and it only lasts for 2 seconds! I’m always anticipating those interactions. Maybe it’s your grandpa reaching for your hand to tell you he loves you or seeing a guest doing a twirl as someone compliments their dress. I excel at looking for and documenting these moments.

All genders, sexualities, religions, ages, sizes and ethnicities are welcome here. I treat everyone like an old friend. I believe that we are all connected and kindness is crucial. Our time here is limited. Every moment is the most important. Even if you have acne, even if the weather is stormy, and even if you feel as though nothing special enough is happening to warrant having photos taken- your existence is enough to preserve your memories.
