Locations for a Small Wedding in Denver, CO 2026

The City of Cuernavaca Park in Denver is a wonderful, urban location to have a small wedding in Denver with a great view of the skyline.

This park has a lot of paths and bridges to take photos on, a covered area with picnic tables for a casual cocktail hour and marriage license signing as well as a scenic skyline area for your vows and short ceremony.

Events at parks in Denver usually require a permit to hold an event and the information for permits can be found here. The permit is typically $210 total and allows your elopement or wedding to held here. You’ll also need to get your marriage license in Denver, found here

A great bar nearby is Prost Bar or Raices Brewery. They have outdoor patios with lots of room for guests and both are just a short bike ride or scooter ride from Cuernavaca Park!

I photographed Travis and Robert’s elopement for an hour and a half and we had plenty of time for portraits, the ceremony, speeches, cake cutting, and a few more portraits at the bar. The area had so much to offer for beers and biking. This was such a beautiful day and I loved how effortlessly it came together with all of their friends and family.

If you’re hoping to elope or have a small ceremony in Denver, send me an email! I’d love to connect and document your day for you.

Things to Do in Albuquerque, New Mexico

I’ve visited New Mexico a handful of times over the past 5 years and each time, my visits aren’t too long, but I’m still able to see the things I want to see and to eat a lot of good New Mexican food.

A great place for breakfast food any time of day is Frontier. This restaurant has a ton of seating, it open late and often has lots of college students drinking a late night coffee while they study. I love getting a cinnamon roll and a smothered burrito here.

Another place for food with a cool exterior is the Owl Cafe. I love the way this building looks at night with all of the colorful neon lights.

Old Town Albuquerque is a town square that has any shop you might want to visit. There are goods like hats, jewelry, clothing even a soap shop called Nizhoni Soaps that has beautifully crafted and good smelling bar soap.

A beautiful church nearby is San Felipe De Niri where you can walk the grounds of the church, visit inside and see the ornate details of the building and trees.

How to Elope in Boulder, CO -Chautauqua Park Elopement and Wedding Information in Boulder 2026

If you’re planning to get married in Boulder, a wonderful location option is Chautauqua Park for an elopement or a larger wedding on the lawn.

The lawn at Chautauqua is a great choice if you have a large wedding party. The views of the flatirons are lovely and the space for all of your guests is suitable.

The lawn is accessible for most people. There are flat walking paths in most areas. Parking here is limited and difficult to find, so a shuttle service is helpful if your party has more than 15 people. Some couples have their cocktail hour at the top of the lawn area and their dinner/reception inside one of the cabins in this area. Although it’s a lot of inclined walking, it can be nice to have a few locations for guests to spread out.

The images below are of cottages that are available to sleep in, get ready, do a first look reveal and more before your wedding day begins. *Click here for cottage rental information

Cost breakdown for the Chautauqua Lawn;

-Marriage License: in Colorado, it costs $35 for a marriage license and you can apply for a marriage license here

-Group Permit: it costs $100 for groups with more than 50 people (up to 100 people are allowed for a wedding) and you can find permit information here

*this permit is required to get married at Chautauqua for a group of 50-100 people which accounts for everyone present, including vendors.

Another perk of this location is the option to drive up the mountain for panoramic views of the mountains. There are overlooks to wander around and take dramatic photos in terms of lighting and scenery like the photo below.

Having your elopement or your wedding on the Lawn at Chautauqua offers variety, accessibility and many different views all within 5-10 minutes of downtown Boulder. I always recommend this location to couples for the convenience and variety it offers.

If you’re thinking about getting married in Boulder, send me an email! I’m happy to offer any help with locations, permits and all things in the realm of weddings and elopements here!

Spiritual Branding Photoshoot in Golden, Colorado

Spiritual Branding Photoshoot in Golden, Colorado

Sherri contacted me and told me she was changing career paths, changing her home base and much of her life. She told me about the importance of spiritual connection in her business and her life. And that the theme of her spiritual work and business is “your heart is safe in my hands.”

We went to the creek at Lion’s Park in Golden where Sherri used her singing chakra bowl to drop into a meditation and move intuitively. Her peaceful energy and confidence in herself was inspiring. I love being able to help empower women in their lives and in their work.

At the end of our session, a butterfly landed on top of her head which made everything that much more magical.

If you have a business, are changing life paths or just want some new photos of yourself, send me an email and let’s connect!

Best Hikes near Denver - Saint Mary's Glacier Hike, Colorado

Best Hikes near Denver - Saint Mary's Glacier Hike, Colorado

Saint Mary’s Glacier is an easy 2.4 mile round trip hike with about 1,030 ft of elevation gain. It’s in Idaho Springs and about 45 minutes from Downtown Denver. Saint Mary’s has a glacier that has snow year round. Sometimes people will be skiing in August like they were when I last visited! There is a $5 cash fee to park in the lot and the views are worth any payment. The colors from the wildflowers in the summer are so lush. The lake is cold, but good for cliff jumping and swimming. There is a stream of water from the snowmelt near the glacier with lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the views. I love coming to this place to hike in different seasons throughout the year. This is a great hike to take visitors from out of town for beautiful views in a short distance. The drive up to the parking lot is gorgeous too!
