Family Photographer for Young Kids in Boulder, CO

A sweet documentary family photo session in Boulder, CO

Before a family session, I like to scout locations to be familiar with the area and make sure I know where the light will be and when it will look best for your photos. For families with small children, it helps to choose an outdoor location with room for running around and exploring.

When considering outfits, having some variety in accessories or pattern is great. A good goal to keep with an outfit for group photos is to coordinate rather than match. Having complimentary colors works well.

This cute little family was a great example of those coordinating colors that also stood out from the environment. Even accessorizing or adding layers can help create a look.

Most importantly, wear what you’re comfortable in and makes you feel confident and like yourself. And if you’re indecisive, bringing another outfit choice can help too!

Bridal Photographer in Boulder for Dress Try-ons

I’ve recently taken photos at several bridal try-ons and have loved seeing the special moments of the day unfold. If you’re getting married soon and have yet to pick out your dress, consider hiring me for a half day to take photos as you try on at different boutiques!

Even if you don’t find your dress on the day we take photos, the moments captured with your closest friends and or family are worth remembering.

The photos in this blog are from my good friend Estelle’s bridal try on and Boulder Bridal. Her mom and sister flew in from out of state to be there as well as several other of her friends. She left unsure whether or not she had found her dress and later went back to choose one she had originally tried on.

Bridal try on days consist of 3-4 hours of coverage with same-day previews sent by the end of the day!

You can expect the final gallery to have 50+ photo that will be edited and delivered within 1 week. These sessions are $800.

Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding Photographer

If you’re looking for a spacious wedding venue with a lot of distant mountain views, trees, open fields and the capacity for hundreds of guests, Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur is a great option. The maximum capacity is around 275 guests and their rates vary depending on the time of year and day of the week, but prices range from about $7,500-$10,500 to reserve the space.

Spruce Mountain Ranch Weddings has multiple venues, allowing flexibility with dates and scheduling in the busy season. These photos are from the Upper Ranch venue area. You can see my photos from the Lower Ranch Venue here.

Both spaces have a lot of different areas for guests to wander and enjoy cocktails, for dancing, for couples photos and dinner. The spaciousness is a big positive of this venue for both Upper and Lower.

Boulder Elopement Photographer

Nicole and Dustin had a small group of family members join them for their day on Flagstaff mountain. Although this was not technically an elopement, the simplicity of the day felt similarly!

A few weeks before the wedding, Dustin broke his leg, but he still managed to make his way around the ceremony site and Chautauqua for photos!

The easy access to variety in scenery at this spot is a main reason why I enjoy it so much. The views of the mountains from Flagstaff mountain are lush with lots of trees in the distance and some open field areas. Then the views of the flatirons at Chautauqua can’t be topped as a perfect background for wedding photos.

On your elopement day, I prioritize checking light or sunset times to be sure that the light is where we want it and expect it to be on your day. I also offer help with creating a timeline and realistic expectations for how long photos will take. When there is a small group of family members attending as well, it’s important for me to make sure you have time to socialize and enjoy your day. It’s meant to be a day of enjoying and celebrating your love, it is not a photoshoot only. I like using this reframe to help my couples remember the important parts of the day and not to worry about every detail falling perfectly into place.
