Surprise Proposal in Rocky Mountain National Park at Sky Pond
I’ve only known Andrew and Estelle for about 4 months, but they are already 2 of my closest friends. They’re both such kind people. Estelle is always paying attention to details for organizing things for our big friend group and being such a good host whenever we go to hers and Andrew’s house. She lets me borrow her clothes and is the best about remembering things to do for other people when they ask her for a favor. Andrew has the best energy to be around. Always smiling, always eager about any adventure and always the life of the friend group. Our group of 9 people hiked the 11 miles to Sky Pond to see our friends get engaged! This location was perfect for a proposal. Afterwards, we had lunch and drank some champagne together. Andrew and Estelle have been together for 8 years and I’m so happy they’re officially getting married.
This hike was beautiful! I wanted to make it up to Chasm Falls, but a snowstorm stopped me. I parked at the Alluvial Fan picnic area, walked to Endovalley Picnic area and walked up Fall River Road. All the roads past Alluvial Fan Picnic area were closed. This hike is mostly pavement until you get to Fall River Road which is where the road turns to gravel and is an uphill hike from there on. Even though I didn’t see the falls, this was still a beautiful, quiet hike.
Paige and Tyler's Granby Ranch Mountaintop Wedding was incredible. Everyone attending the wedding was able to take the ski lift up to the top of the mountain for the ceremony. The ceremony site overlooked the mountains and the views were so gorgeous. Paige and Tyler are so so kind and are a beautiful couple. They truly focused on their friends and family and each other the whole day. Their friends and family’s speeches and toasts made everyone cry and I felt so happy I was able to be a part of their day.

I had been to Dream lake once in October of 2018. It was a foggy, rainy/snowy day. The visibility was only as good as about 20 feet in front of me. Going back to this lake and up to Emerald Lake in August of 2019, I got to see the mountains in the distance that I had never seen before! I loved this difference in weather patterns and season.
These lakes are great hikes to get to with stunning views and beautiful at any time of the year.
