Graduation Photographer in Denver at CU Denver

If you’re looking for a graduation photographer in Denver, I have some great locations for your photos.

Monique graduated from CU Denver so we spent time around that campus on a cold afternoon, but the light was perfect.

We met near Tivoli Quad and found murals, staircases and scenic skyline areas.

We took these photos on a Sunday afternoon and campus was fairly quiet, so we didn’t have to worry about having other people in the background of photos.

The murals around campus make wonderful backdrops and offer some variety to the photos even though the area we explored was relatively small. We had to get a skyline shot with a cap toss and it was a success!

Unique Small Wedding Locations in Denver

The City of Cuernavaca Park in Denver is a great location for a small wedding if you want an urban location with a great view of the skyline.

This park has paths and bridges to take photos on, a covered pavilion area with picnic tables for a casual cocktail hour and marriage license signing as well as a scenic skyline area for your vows and short ceremony.

Events at parks in Denver usually require a permit to hold an event and the information for permits can be found here. The permit is typically $210 total and allows your elopement or wedding to held here. You’ll also need to get your marriage license in Denver, found here

A great bar nearby is Prost Bar. These photos were taken at Raices Brewery which has sadly since closed. But Prost has an outdoor patio with lots of room for guests and is a short bike ride or scooter ride from Cuernavaca Park!

For Travis and Robert’s small wedding, we had plenty of time for portraits, the ceremony, speeches, cake cutting, and a few more portraits at the brewery with a 2 hour time span. This area has so much to offer from views, to beers and biking. It’s a very “Colorado” location.

Headshot Photographer in Boulder

I often take new headshots for myself to keep my site up to date and to practice posing. I’m always working on finding ways to make my clients more comfortable in front of the camera because it is intimidating sometimes!

The best way to feel more comfortable in front of the camera when you get your own photos taken is to ease into each pose. Sometimes I’ll take a deep breath and let my shoulders drop a little bit, unclench my jaw and find a relaxed smile. As the photo shoot goes on, my clients have told me they feel more confident than at the start and they often like the photos of themselves at the end of the shoot better than the ones at the beginning.

This is also why I recommend a shoot that’s an hour long so we can go to multiple locations and have plenty of time to get used to being in front of the camera.

Boulder, CO Wedding Photographer with Documentary Style

Emily and Michael’s wedding at Boulder Creek Wedgewood and Chautauqua was a windy and gorgeous day.

They got ready for the day at the Residence Inn by Marriott Boulder Canyon. The rooms had lovely light and were perfect for the photos we needed before leaving for their first look.

I led Michael to the base of the mountain at Chautauqua to wait for Emily. Their first look was wonderful and we took some photos of immediate family before heading to Wedgewood.

This venue has a lot of space for photos with different backdrops and nature scenes. We went down near the creek for some portraits before the ceremony on the lawn. Afterwards, the cocktail hour was out on the patio and dinner was held in a big tent outside. It’s fully insulated and has gorgeous chandeliers inside. The ceilings were just tall enough for the Hora!

Boulder Creek Wedgewood Weddings in Boulder is a great venue. It’s easy for guests to stay in a hotel nearby and also be close to the mountains to see all that Boulder offers with nature.

Family photos at NCAR in Boulder for this family that traveled in from many different states to be together for the holidays!

LGBTQ+ Wedding Photographer near Boulder, CO

This amazing wedding was a vibrant celebration. The awesome couple hired Jessica, a drag queen to be their officiant. She was incredible and orchestrated several drag performances during cocktail hour and dinner.

Throughout their day, there were disco balls, late night milkshakes, a grand entrance made on roller skates- everything was high energy and embodied all of the things these two love most.

Some great things about Blackstone Rivers Ranch in Idaho Springs:

1. The venue is lovely. The ceremony site is next to the creek between some pine trees and has wood benches for guests to sit. The getting-ready rooms are spacious inside and have deck areas for bridal or groom portraits. The reception area is in a big, beautiful tent that has a lot of room for seating, a dance floor, dessert tables and a bar in the tent as well. Outside the tent, there are fireplaces and a wood covered bridge which is a great place for couples portraits and to view the creek from above.

2. There is a nice wooded area that makes a great first look location with privacy.

3. There is room outside the tent for late night snack vendors! A few weddings that I’ve photographed here have had late night drink/coffee trucks outside.

4. Tall ceilings in the tent for dramatic florals. I love seeing how flowers are draped inside the reception tent. They always look elegant.
